Our general meeting was called to order at 12:15 by President Ryan.  Dennis Ciano, lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance & Father Rick faithfully inspired us with prayer.

EVERYONE WAS HAPPY TO BE AT THE MEETING, HAPPY TO TELL ME HOW CRAZY I WAS TO BE SKYDIVING, BUT ALSO HAPPY TO WISH ME LUCK AND HAPPY TO WELCOME OUR GUESTS. In addition......

Dennis Ciano was happy about the fact that he's working as a technical consultant on the set of the new NBC series, The Blacklist!!

Tom Cilmi was happy to get change from Happy Dollars for the golf ball raffle!!

Kathy Cooney was happy about the great turnout today!!

Tom Jones was happy that the NY Yankees did NOT make the playoffs!!

Russ Moran was happy about Dennis working on the set of The Blacklist and happy too that there's a psychologist within the club that I can consult with!!!

Announcements – Matters of Importance

UPDATE ON WARREN GOERCKE......Let's continue to keep him in our prayers and hope that we'll see him soon!!

Tom Licari's mom, Ottilie Licari, is not doing well....let's keep her in our prayers!!!

UPDATE:  It is with a heavy heart that I report, Ottilie Licari, has passed away!!  Our deepest sympathy to the family!!!  Wake will be held on Monday, 9/30 bet 2-4:30 and 7-9pm @ Overton Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday morning @ St. Marys, 9:45am, burial @ St. Charles Cemetary.

WE ALL SANG a special rendition of HAPPY BIRTHDAY for everyone who celebrated a birthday in September.....Clay, Janet(father Rick's wife), Phyllis, Rachel just to name a few!!!  Apologies to those I didn't mention by name!!

Tickets for the fundraising event to benefit the Mondays @ Racine Cancer Care Foundation on Monday, 10/7 are SOLD OUT!!...however, if anyone is interested in making a donation, please ontact Rachel!!!

GIFT OF LIFE Fundraiser - JUMP FOR LIFE on Sept. 28!!! I will be one of the daring jumpers(crazy is probably a better word, lol?!) It's something I've always wanted to do, so thought why not do it for this terrific cause. Would gladly welcome and appreciate any supporters/sponsors!! WARNING...You may see a grown woman cry UPDATE.....I DID IT AND THOUGHT IT WAS AWESOME!!!

Karen Moss read a special Thank You letter from Islip Schools for donation of the backpacks!!!

Program Director, Russ Moran mentioned that if anyone has any ideas for guest speakers, DO NOT BOOK the speaker without speaking to Russ before-hand!!

Today’s Guest Speaker.....Kevin Stoner, President of Lightstone Systems, Inc......discussing Constant Contact Email Marketing.....a great way to spread your knowledge and expand your customer base!!  Always abide by the 2/2/2 rule.....you have 2 sec to grab their attention, 2 words in the subject line which gives them a compelling reason to open your email, because if they don't open it 2day, chances are they won't open it at all!!  Also remember too, less is more....if people have to scroll down, most likely they will lose interest/get aggravated and not bother to continue reading!!!  Must be consistent and uniform to create cohesive branding!!

Golf Ball Raffle......Winning ticket was held by Karen Sobel, but unfortunately, NO YELLOW BALL....instead, she picked a white ball which read.....BLUE BALL!!....oh oh....this co-editor has no comment!!

10/5 -10/6/2013 - Book Fair @ Bayard Cutting Arboretum.....featuring world famous authors including our own RUSS MORAN!!!

10/10/2013 - Next Board Meeting

10/18/2013 - Community service event on October 18th @ Seatuck 7-11pm. It's a Costume Party- all attendees must be in costume, prizes will be awarded!! Sounds like great fun.....Tickets will be $50. ea....Add'l details to follow!!

11/1/2013 - AMVETS Fundraiser @ Eagle Golf, Bay Shore, 6pm...tickets are $25ea....Bob Nathan says, "It's a deal and a half"....8 local restaurants have agreed to contribute food for the event... there will be a putting contest, longest drive contest etc.  Wil be loads of fun....don't miss out!!

11/21/2013 - GIFT OF LIFE fundraiser @ Flowerfield in St James from 6-10pm... ticket prices and add'l information will follow, but mark your calenders, you won't want to miss this one!!!
