Our general meeting was called to order at 12:15 by President Ryan. Susan Harvey lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Bob Nathan inspired us with a prayer.

EVERYONE WAS HAPPY to welcome our guests and HAPPY to be at the meeting!!

JOHN C. was happy that his youngest child graduated from Hofstra!!
TONY D. was happy that he had no sporting events over the upcoming holiday weekend!!
GARY R. was happy that there's 1 down and only 1 to go....referring to the fact that one of his children graduated with a Master's Degree from Columbia and only 1 remains!!
KAREN S. was happy about the good work of the Gift of Life and all the other Rotary programs!!
Announcements - Matters of Importance
Let's continue to keep Warren Goercke in our prayers....."Swab Party" went well, 124 people participated....it takes approx. three weeks to find out about matches....let's keep our fingers crossed!!
NEXT MEETING, 5/29 will be a combined meeting with Bay Shore and Babylon Clubs at Captain Bills....cost will be $20. - pls RSVP so they have a head count!!! Guest Speaker will be PDG, George Solomon!!
KAREN MOSS informed us that the Scholarships Awards have been chosen.....there are four recipients, 2 from the East Islip district and 2 from the Islip district!!
BOB NATHAN praised the Gift of Life Program along with PDG, George Solomon, for his contribution/dedication to this program. His numerous trips to Haiti have made a huge difference. Simply stated, the Rotary Foundation is amazing and George Solomon is the true definition of a Rotarian!!!

GUEST SPEAKERS TODAY - Kathy Koenigsdorf and Jennifer Lopiccolo of the Jake Koenigsdorf Foundation......In July 2013, Kathy's son, Jake, died of a drug overdose. In his name, she founded the Jake Koenigsdorf Foundation...a non-profit organization that raises money to help alcoholics and addicts who are willing to do whatever it takes to get clean, but don't have the financial means to do so. They provide knowlege and grant funding for entry into long-terms facilities which enable them to work towards a solution for lasting recovery!! Thank you for the heart wrenching, informative presentation!! Keep up the great work!!

Wine Raffles - BOTTLE OF WINES were won by Joe Perino(white), who is definitely on a lucky streak!!! and Karen Sobel took home the red!!
Golf Ball Raffle....Collected by TONY D'AMICO and he also held the winning ticket NO YELLOW BALL, but one which read "Have a Ball"!!!
AMOUNT COLLECTED FOR GOLF BALL RAFFLE: $58.00....it was the only the first week so the pot starts off there!!
