Announcements:

  • Please keep Warren in our prayers. Warren has a match and will be undergoing the bone marrow transplant on September 22nd !!!  We will provide an update as to his progress. People have still been volunteering to give platelets and blood. If you want to donate, please call 631-444-3662 to make an appointment, it is greatly appreciated!!!!
  • Bob needs volunteers for September 24th to help Veterans get assistance at the VA in Northport.  Please let Bob know if you can help this great program.
  • Karen Moss will need help with the Thanksgiving Baskets – shopping and filling the baskets, dates will be announced.
  • Bob reported that the Taste of Long Island will be raising money for the Gift of Life.  October 8th    (time: 7 pm to 10pm) at Appliance World on 414 New York Ave.  Huntington (Donation $45 pp). This event has always been a lot of fun and the food is wonderful!!  We look forward to supporting the Gift of Life while pigging out on great food ;-)
  • Gift of Life Update:  Rotary has helped over 17000 children globally (with about 1000 children being helped annually).    GOL is expanding to train doctors and health care professionals of the country of the children.  Rotary is in 67 countries currently.   Rotary has raised over $500 million dollars to save children.  We should be proud of ourselves!!! We rock!
  • Kathy Cooney announced that East Islip Interact has started up for the year and she will have updates soon.
  • The Halloween Party is going to be held at Seatuck again on October 17 (from 7pm to 11pm).  WE DO NEED RAFFEL BASKETS, if you can donate, please let Clay know.  Additionally, we have table, DJ and tombstone sponsorships.  Please let Clay know if you can be a sponsor which will help toward our Rotary causes.

  • Special Guests:  We welcomed Theresa Rosario who attended her third meeting, getting ready to be a new Rotarian. And Liz Mayott and Denise Kordas who are thinking about joining our club.  It was great to see them!

    10-27-14   Monday at Racine’s Gala is October 27 at Obsessions on Route 109.  Rachel will bring in tickets for anyone who wishes to attend.

    Happy Dollars:  Eric was happy that he got practice of running a meeting for his presidency next year. Rick was happy that his Jonathan was able to join us today. Merri was happy for our speakers and new Rotarians.  Fr Rick was happy that his 18 year old pick up trick is still running and that Russ’s newest book is so good!!  Russ was happy that people love his new book. Ryan was happy that he was attending his brother’s bachelor party this weekend.  Cheryl was happy for her daughter’s birthday. Kathy and Bob were happy for Gift of Life and our new members.  James was happy to be happy. Kevin was happy he was wearing a suit. Sue Z was happy she is doing to London soon.
