10-17-13 –Guest Speakers:

Kevin Fitzpatrick was our guest speaker. He told us of his grand Grand Canyon adventure with his two daughters, Kayla (age

15) and Jennifer ( age 13). Kevin had to plan for this trip a year in advance and the Phantom Ranch even requires you to plan

your menu a year ahead. It was a great feat to walk 10 miles from the top to the bottom of the canyon, reaching the Phantom

Ranch where they stayed overnight. The canyon has rattle snakes, creepy spiders and other wild bugs but that proved no match

for the Fitzpatick’s clan. The heat was over 120 degrees outside and only 90 degrees inside their cabin. They started their

journey at 5:30 a.m. and reached the Ranch by 3 p.m. They had dinner, went to bed and had breakfast at 5 a.m. the next

morning. They started back around 6 a.m. and got back to the top of the canyon at 8 p.m. It was a long journey but it was worth

it. Of course, the girls now want to go on a cruise ;-)

Kevin is a great dad and we are sure the memories will last for a life time!! Thank you for sharing.

GREAT JOB Kevin!!! – very interesting and we loved the pictures ;-)
