Pledge & Prayer:   We thank you James who lead us in the pledge and Fr. Rick for a wonderful prayer.
                                      God  Bless  America  and  Rotarians!

  • Installation Dinner for Dennis Ciano and his Board to be held on Thursday June 29 from 6:30-10:30 at Irish Coffee Pub. Member's invitation is included in the annual dues, guests are additional ($40); make checks payable to Rotary club of Islip.
  •  Lunch at Bayard Cutting Arboretum was a success. It was a nice change of pace.
  • The Community Service Dinner went very well. A special thank you to James who donated all of the baskets. We made over $8,000! ;-) Great job Rotarians!
  • Gift of Life child – A little girl from Kosovar is staying at Clay’s house so she can get a life-saving surgery. Clay is kind enough to open his home to host her and her father. If you can help by cooking a meal or transportation, please let Clay know. This is what being a Rotarian is all about.
  • Rotary Club Golf Outing- July 11th – 11:00 registration, Lunch and dinner are included for only $200 (per golfer) at the Rock Hill Golf & Country Club in Manorville. Benefits the Gift of Life. If you do not golf, you can help support this great cause with tee and other sponsorships. Please Clay know if you can participate in any way.
  • Gift of Life donation this year was $5,500. We raised enough money to be able to donate these and other funds to charities like RYLA, Polio Plus, Rotary Foundation, Camp-Pa-Qua-Tuck, Islip Arts Council, Islip and East Islip Fire Departments, Food for Hope among others. We are making a difference in our local community and across the world!
  • Gift of Life Board Meetings–   If you can attend any of these Gift of Life board meetings, it really can give you a better insight into what Rotary is doing to help children around the world.  Next meeting starts at 7 pm is in June 2017  at       7 Court House Dr Central Islip New York 11722, and every third Wednesday two months out. We have raised thousands of dollars to help save the lives of children from all over the world who desperately need surgery. Rotary saves lives!
  • Homeless Veterans are helped -  We will let you know when the next “Stand Down” event will be.
  • Interact club- Kathy and Cheryl spoke at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum along with the Islip and East Islip Interact students. Thank you ladies ;-) We have donated $200 to two Interact students to help them attend Ryla this summer.
  • Exchange students; We need volunteers. We need a female councilor to host a female foreign teenage student and a (male or female) overseer or officer. Please let James know if you can help, time is getting short.
  • Scholarships – We have raised and gave four $750 scholarships this year to two East Islip and two Islip Interact students.
  • Membership – We could always use more members.  If you can bring a friend to lunch or tell someone about Rotary, we may be able to increase our membership.  “Many hands make light work.”
  • Foundation Update-  John Chinnici is asking if our members can consider having from their checking accounts automatic withdrawals of only $10 per month to the Rotary International Foundation that helps support our common causes.  If every member donates $100 per year, our club will not only be recognized for 100% member contributions but the Foundation also helps us with grants so we can expand our local and foreign good works of charity.
You can log onto MYROTARY.org and easily set up your automatic donations.
  • Islip Arts Council – The Arts Council is celebrating.  The annual concert in the park is  Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 8pm. This year, come to Heckscher Park for a concert to ''Honor Our Hometown Heroes,'' Visit their home http://islipartscouncil.org  to see the great programs they are working on.

Special Guests:  We welcomed Laura Rosenthal, our newest member. Also we welcomed our guest speaker and Fran’s friend, Andrea Vecchio. Happy Birthday Father Rick!!  If you can invite a business friend to Rotary maybe we can increase membership.
