Our general meeting was called to order at 12:15 by President Ryan.  Dick LaBella, lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance & Pastor Mike Staneck faithfully inspired us with prayer.

HAPPY DOLLARS were collected by Dennis Ciano.....great job! ....but Ryan was disappointed that he didn't wear his red vest??!

EVERYONE WAS HAPPY TO BE AT THE MEETING, HAPPY TO WELCOME OUR GUESTS AND HAPPY TO CONGRATULATE AUDLEY HAYNES ON RECEIPT OF THE PAUL HARRIS FELLOWSHIP AWARD, in addition......

Eric Buehler was happy that his daughter, Emma will be starting Kindergarten next week!

Tom Cilmi was happy about having an empty nest!

Dick LaBella was happy that his photo show is going to be on display at MacArthur Airport starting next Tuesday....expressed thanks to Lynda Moran and the IAC!!

Tom Jones was happy that his daughter's college soccer team is scheduled to come to Long Island to play Stonybrook!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Audley Haynes on receiving the Paul Harris Fellowship Award......well deserved!!!

BIRTHDAY WISHES to Rachel DeMolfetto - we sang a special Rotarian rendition of Happy Birthday!!!  Enjoy Rachel...hope your day is as special as you are!! 

School Supply Donation Collection is ongoing.....we've collected $295 thus far... this means that 18 Backpacks, fully loaded with supplies will be donated....an add'l 6 of these were already donated to the Islip School District from earlier donations. Thank you to all who have contributed. It's still not to late to donate - donations being accepted until Sept. 15th!!

Rachel announced a fundraising event being held to benefit the Mondays @ Racine Cancer Care Foundation on Monday, 10/7...it includes a screening of the academy award-nominated film, Mondays At Racine followed by a Cocktail Reception @ Seatuck. See attached flyer/RSVP form. Contact Rachel for add'l info!!  Says tickets are going fast - HURRY, don't miss out!!!

GIFT OF LIFE Fundraiser - JUMP FOR LIFE on Sept. 28!!! See attached for add'l info. I will be one of the daring jumpers(crazy is probably a better word, lol?!) It's something I've always wanted to do, so thought why not do it for this terrific cause. Would gladly welcome and appreciate any supporters/sponsors!! WARNING...You may see a grown woman cry

Phyllis spoke about POLIO....says we are continuing our efforts towards the goal of complete eradication, but there is still lots of work to do(there has been some recent outbreaks)....please help!!!  Any/all donations appreciated!!

It's going to be a busy and exciting year......be sure to keep an eye on "Upcoming Events" section for all that's going on!!

Program Director, Russ Moran mentioned that if anyone has any ideas for guest speakers, DO NOT BOOK the speaker without speaking to Russ before-hand!!

Today’s Guest Speaker.....DG, Gwen Ramage discussed her top (3)goals......

1) To increase individual member's contributions

2) To increase membership - there are presently 74 Rotary Clubs within the district....she is hoping that each club will increase by at least 3 members!!

3) For a cohesive District 7255 - suggest we all reach out to one another to share ideas, fundraiser info, etc.....She's looking for a volunteer to keep an up-to-date districtwide calender of events!!!

Wine Raffles - O'bottle of White - DG, Gwen Ramage...she actually picked her own ticket!!  / O'bottle of Red - Phyllis Ozarin, but she decided to give it to Bob Nathan.....what a gal!!! 

Golf Ball Raffle......Not done today!!

10/18/2013 - Community service event on October 18th @ Seatuck 7-11pm. It's a Costume Party- all attendees must be in costume, prizes will be awarded!! Tickets will be $50. ea....Add'l details to follow!!
