Guest Speakers: Our own Bob Nathan was our honored guest speaker.
Bob talked about one of his passions: The Gift Of Life which has helped 6000 people since it started. The Gift of Life program is in about 67
countries worldwide. Ronald Reagan and Tony Randal were Gift of Life spokes people. The Rotary Foundation helps to train doctors and
nurses from around the world to perform lifesaving surgery on children who would other die. Some of our own Rotarian members have been
host families, including Warren who hosted about 25 children. Karen Sobel hosted about 3 or 4 kids and parents, John Chinnici, Kathy
Cooney, and the late John Perino among others hosted familes. Winsome was a club representative who went to many meetings at Stony
Brook Hospital. Today, Sue Z is doing a great job also our club representative.
The Gift of Life started with two people in Nassau County and expanded to our club largely because of the efforts by our fellow Rotarian
John Perino, a former member who sacrificed much of his time, resources and talents to help bring this wonderful program to life. While
John was been deceased for some time his memory lives on through his great efforts.
GREAT JOB Bob!!! Thank you again for all that you do ;-)
