Pledge & Prayer: Thank you Guy Edwards who lead us in the pledge and thank you to Fr. Rick to who gave us a
wonderful blessing. And Thank you very much Tony for filling in for Ryan – you did a great job!!!!

 Warren needs our continued prayers!!!! We pray he comes back soon – we miss him ;-)
 Rotary Halloween Party – tickets are for sale- $50 p.p. includes just about everything!! Raffle tickets for the “Basket
of Fear” are also available. The basket of scary liquor will be at the Islip Coffee Pub until the night of the party where
we will announce the winner. Raffle tickets are $5 for one or $20 for five.
Special Guests: We welcomed Martha McDermott, Fran Siems, Kathy DeBromo, Stephanie from Seatuck and Cynthia,
Rachel’ sister who knows Eric for over 25 years.

Happy Dollars: Rachel was happy that the Chambers of Commerce honored Racines for all the great work they
do. Well deserved!!! Tom Lawler, Joe, Guy and Eric were all happy for the weather. Karen S was happy for our guests.
Lynda was happy for the Arts Council Jazz Fest being so successful. Martha was happy to join us. Sue Z was happy to be at
Captain Bills were Racines was honored. Tom Jones was $5.00 happy for Racines. Tony was happy for the winless Giants.
Pastor Mike was happy for the Giant also – although I am not sure why. Gary was happy to honored by the American Dental
Society – CONGRATS!! Stephanie from Seatuck was happy to be out of the office. Merri was happy Dennis was working
(somebody has to work ;-) Dick Labella was happy to be back from Maine. $36 happy dollars collected.
The Wine went to Joe Perino and Cynthia – ENJOY!!

Rachel and Cynthia from Racine’s:
Rachel and Cynthia were both affected by cancer. Their mom died way too young. But they both opened their hearts to others
and started Monday at Racines where one Monday per month they opened their doors to women diagnosed with cancer. After
ten years of offering their services, HBO did a short film on the program to be aired on HBO and honored tonight at Seatuck.
The stories shown on the HBO short film is inspiring. As many may have heard, the first question for many women diagnosed
with cancer is, “Will I lose my hair?” Cynthia and Rachel have made a wonderful difference not only to these suffering people
but also to our community. We are proud to have them a part of Rotary and our lives!!!
Long Island Jewish hospital is partnering with Racines to expand this program to every Monday. For a Monday salon near you,
you will be able to enter your zip code on their upcoming not-for-profit website and find a salon in your area that participates in
this great program. Please ask Rachel for more information.
Monday at Racine’s is now a 501(c)3 – if you would like to donate to this wonderful cause, please contact Rachel or Cynthia at
Racines. 631-224-5240. Congratulations again to Rachel and Cynthia!!!
